January 2014 horoscope - Aries

I follow the sidereal calendar; this is the January 2015 horoscope for birthdays from 14th April to 15th May or Aries Ascendants or Moons

Aries, as so often at the turn of the year, the focus for you is on career, goals, your hopes and your dreams and your vision for the future. But this year with an added touch of attention from Jupiter, the planet of expansion, from your home zone. The message here is that whatever happens at work, in your public life and around your public image comes from and is tightly connected with what is happening at home. You could be changing jobs and therefore move home or even country, you could set up a home office or change careers to something more exciting and fulfilling such as teaching and mentoring. In any case, money doesn’t look bad and some Aries may even be in for a bonus, an inheritance or a tax refund. Just as well as Saturn is putting some pressure on your finances.

But regardless of what happens at work, this is a month, you are intent on making your dreams come true - financially and romantically. On top of that, it’s a fairly social month where you catch up with friends and hone those kinds of relationships which may have had to take a backseat more recently. For those Aries looking for love, the first month of the New Year could be one where you meet someone, who, over time becomes a companion you can’t be without anymore.

The full Moon on 5th January in Gemini is a time for you to focus on new training, new learning, short-distance and every day travel as well as planning your summer holidays – Aries like to get in there first and well in advance of the majority. Some Aries may be battling it out with their neighbours or younger siblings but rest assured that this seems to be (almost) the last piece of the puzzle – think about what went on in July 2013 and you’ll get the idea. Equally, if it’s a legal situation, such as a divorce, you’re dealing with, again, you may not see the end of the whole story just yet but you’ll reach the next stage.

This full Moon is in the nakshatra of Purnavasu, ruled by Jupiter, the planet of luck and expansion. This is the nakshatra of the excellent, the good and the ‘blessed’ and the bright one. With Jupiter being the ruler of this nakshatra, it indicates wealth, goods, riches and property; it is ruled by the god of capital wealth or the god of life. It gives the ability to ‘create’ - in form and in structure – hinting at success in everything they undertaken now. This is the nakshatra of the natural educator with a love for world travel and a pronounced interest in religious belief systems, ritual traditions with a love for children. For you, this means that there is a silver lining if you are facing legal issues, if you are struggling to submit your research project in time or if exam preparations are taking their toll on you. Equally, your home zone is highlighted this month and during this full Moon, so again, if you are dealing with neighbourly disputes, a peaceful solution may be in sight – hopefully.

With Mercury in the sign of Capricorn, you’ll also have a very clear idea and ability to express your thoughts – although not an overly emotional placement, at least, you’ll be able to reason rationally. At least until 21st January, this is a nice placement if you wanted to discuss aspects of your career. Mercury then goes retrograde on 21st January and until 12th February 2015. The consequences or hiccups of this retrograde period can be felt until 4th March 2015 – in the meantime, it’s a up to you and your boss to review your performance and discuss plans and performance objectives for the coming year. The new Moon on 20th January in Capricorn again highlights your career zone but now it’s a new beginning. It’s not a time to start implementing new ideas with Jupiter and Mercury in retrograde motion but it’s a time to think about how you can work more flexibly, set up your home office and ensure you take your opportunity to get the praise you deserve. Have a a great month, Aries!

January 2015 horoscope - Taurus

I follow the sidereal calendar; this is the January 2015 horoscope for birthdays from 16th May to 15th June of Taurus Ascendants and Moons

The New Year begins with you having your eyes and heart set on romance and relationships. Partnerships for good or bad are not an easy thing to deal with these days but it is what takes up your focus and time for good or for bad. A lot of Taureans are set on making things works, you’re not ready to let go, and those who are single finally want to meet that special someone. You are in a very romantic mood these days and the first three weeks of the months are an excellent time to put your feelers out.

If love is not so much on your agenda, then it’s anything that gives you some new inspiration and insights that teach you something new such as a new course or a trip to a foreign place. For some Taureans, these new learnings and insights directly feed into your work, which, over time, has turned into something more fulfilling and meaningful. If not, then this month, you’re keen to make sure you move towards that goal – a 9-5 job where you feel you can’t make a different to others and to your own life is not what gives you purpose anymore. Especially Taureans with their Ascendant in this sign are likely to develop more of an interest in spiritual, potentially also religious subject – and even write about it. Publishing and writing is an area that’s highlighted these days, so you may do well trying your luck there.

The full Moon on 5th of January in Gemini is a time for you to reflect on just these subjects and in line with what’s happening around your finances. Again, this could tie in with your developing interests and insights in a number of areas as some of you are likely to establish a little sideline business. This is not an easy task at the moment – there are some stumbling block in the way – but you’ll regret not having tried if you don’t.

Not everyone may agree with your vision for financial gains but this full Moon is in the nakshatra of Purnavasu, ruled by Jupiter, the planet of luck and expansion. So, ultimately, a gainful period after a couple of hurdles and potentially some difficult (or expensive!) situations you’ll have to face.

With Mercury in the sign of Capricorn, you’ll also have a very clear idea and ability to express your thoughts – although not an overly emotional placement, at least, you’ll be able to reason rationally. At least until 21st January, this is a nice placement if you wanted to write, publish, research and learn. It’s a more outgoing period that feels less heavy than the previous month and enables you to approach certain situations from a high-level perspective without getting drawn into any drama…or less so, anyway. Mercury then goes retrograde on 21st January and until 12th February 2015. The consequences or hiccups of this retrograde period can be felt until 4th March 2015 – after this time, things to do with your finances, children and romantic interests.

The new Moon on 20th January in Capricorn again highlights communication, research, learning and travel plans but also to a certain extent has an impact on your marriage. Whatever new projects and initiatives you have in mind, now is the time to start thinking about those. It’s not a time to start implementing with Jupiter and Mercury in retrograde motion but at least you can work on your vision and mission statement both in terms of partnerships and professionally. Have a great month, Taurus!

January 2015 horoscope - Gemini

I follow the Vedic calendar; this is the January 2015 horoscope for birthdays from 16th June to 15th July or Gemini Ascendants and Moons

Gemini, as the year begins, your mind is on the money. How much do I have, how much do I need, where do I get it from and who will I share it with? These are the questions you’re contemplating and need to find an answer to. The reason for this may be a number of sudden changes and shocks do with your money and /or your living situation. Some Geminis may be signing on the dotted line for a mortgage now, while others are busy sorting out their annual tax returns or dealing with an inheritance, will and other family-related business.

But in any case, it’s your annual full Moon on 5th January in your own sign which a time for you to reflect on just these subjects and in line with what you want to see happening for yourself in your near future and in terms of your relationships. Not everyone may agree with your ideas for the future or your monetary needs and expectations, not least your partner or people in authority, i.e. at work, and although a demanding situation to start with, it’s a necessary challenge and process to go through.

For you, this means that ultimately, once you’ve faced and dealt with people’s demands and certain others’ challenging behaviour, the process seems to be worth it.

With Mercury, your ruler, in the sign of Capricorn, you’ll also have a very clear idea and ability to express your thoughts – although not an overly emotional placement, at least, you’ll be able to reason rationally. At least until 21st January, this is a good placement for research of all kind, working your way through financial admin. All the while knowing that the wheels of destiny are in motion, something is shifting and although it has done for a few months already, you’re feeling the effects of those past months now and you’re getting used to whatever the new and modified conditions look and feel like.

Mercury then goes retrograde on 21st January and until 12th February 2015. The consequences or hiccups of this retrograde period can be felt until 4th March 2015 – after this time, you’re out of the doldrums so to speak. In the meantime, you’ll change your mind about a few things but that’s your prerogative.

The new Moon on 20th January in Capricorn again highlights your money matters, shared resources and family bonds but now is the time to start thinking about how to move forward. It’s not a time to start initiating with Jupiter and Mercury in retrograde motion but you can start dreaming about it, filling out the forms and apply. Still you may have to renegotiate, review and change some of the details later on but at least you got the ball rolling.

For those who are single, this is a month where you carve some closeness and a solid and long-lasting partnership. Again, you can set the wheels in motion, connect with people and eye up someone who later on may be worth your while. You’ll probably not be able or willing to fully commit just yet. Have a great month, Gemini!

January 2015 horoscope - Cancer

I follow the Vedic calendar; this is the January 2015 horoscope for birthdays from 16th July to 15th August or Cancer Ascendants and Moons

The New Year begins with you focusing on love, romance and the kind of relationships that are built to last. You want something to goes that distance now and with you feeling a lot more optimistic, confident and outgoing than you have done in a long time, a lasting partnership could just be around the corner. Although you are currently in a period where you are reviewing your options, digesting what happened in the past few months and how your world expanded, this is good timing as it stops you from jumping head first into something that seemed wonderful to start with but which may need some readjustments further down the line. For those who are single, this is a great time to find that little bit of security from a relationship that you are looking for and it’s your network of friends or via today’s various dating channels that you could meet someone meaningful who add value to your life instead of draining your resources.

With Mercury in your opposite sign of Capricorn, you’ll also have a very clear idea and ability to express your thoughts – although not an overly emotional placement, at least, you’ll be able to reason rationally. It’s a good time to iron out issues with an existing partner and to have necessary conversations that have been playing on your mind for some time. At least until 21st January, your partner or, generally, other people you’re dealing with on a one-to-one level are all ear. Mercury then goes retrograde on 21st January and until 12th February 2015. The consequences or hiccups of this retrograde period can be felt until 4th March 2015. So, for the time being, you may have to go over old ground in relationships, your partner may be less present than usual or a new love interest has to get up and go as his or her work schedule places its demands.

In order to prepare for what the year has to bring, use the full Moon on 5th of January in Gemini. It’s the sign before yours, so this is a time for you to reflect on the past year, your health and wellbeing and perhaps your readiness for a new relationship. Some of you are also making plans to travel – and this may be the best way to remove yourself from somewhat demanding work situations or health issues. It’s a chance to retreat and withdraw before relationships, shared resources, admin work and tax bills demand your attention.

For you, again, a call to pack your bags, go on a yoga retreat and try and make sense of what is going on in your mind these days.

By the time the new Moon on 20th January in Capricorn comes around the corner, it’s your time of the year to dedicate yourself to love and committed relationships. More so than you have done for a long time! It’s not a time to start initiating necessarily with Jupiter and Mercury in retrograde motion but you can start sending out the vibes and manifest your perfect partnership. For those in a business or committed personal partnership, again, money is the focus of your discussions with the other person, make sure you read the small print. Have a great month, Cancer!

January 2015 horoscope - Leo

I follow the sidereal calendar; this is the January 2015 horoscope for birthdays from 16th August to 15th September or Leo Ascendants and Moons

Leo, this month kind of has two sides for you – on the one hand, relationships take up your focus. You or your partner are placing a lot of emphasis on joint activities, perhaps a trip that reaffirms why you are together and during which you’ll have plenty of time to get back onto the same wavelength. It can be a very romantic time and if you are single, then clearly, a period when you at least want to set the wheels in motion to change that. On the other hand, this is a time to come to agreements around things such as property, how to run your home life and how to share responsibilities. In any case, being in a partnership and contractual agreement – whether business or personal – is important to you now in order to feel protected and secure.

The full Moon on 5th of January in Gemini is a time for you to reflect on just these subjects. It’s also a time when your need to let loose, have some fun and ‘find’ romance is at its annual high. This year may feel a little more intense with your hopes and dreams, finance and romance all tied up together. Some pressure points will be exposed and not everyone may now agree with you, especially children or a romantic partner but what may keep your head cool now is going out, letting your hair down and meeting up with some friends.

For you, this is an interesting antidote to the challenges around finances and romance – hinting at some kind of wish and hope coming true or at least some clarity as to whether or not your plan thus far is still on a fruitful path.

With Mercury in the sign of Capricorn, you’ll also have a very clear idea and ability to express your thoughts – although not an overly emotional placement, at least, you’ll be able to reason rationally. At least until 21st January, this is a nice placement if you wanted to focus on sorting some of the financial matter playing on your mind!

In a more general sense, this is a good placement to get through a mountain of paper work, focus on what needs to be done at work and get it sorted! Equally, it’s your annual stock take of your health and wellbeing – if something is out of balance, now is the time to sign up for a gym membership or a healthy eating group. The new Moon on 20th January in Capricorn is a great time for this, even if you still worry about your money, perhaps a little exercise is the perfect distraction.

Mercury then goes retrograde on 21st January and until 12th February 2015. The consequences or hiccups of this retrograde period can be felt until 4th March 2015 – after this time, things to do with family, money, income and values may be a little easier to handle, despite the next eclipse around the corner, at least you’ll have a bit more clarity and support. Have a great month, Leo!

January 2015 horoscope - Virgo

I follow the sidereal calendar; this is the January 2015 horoscope for birthdays from 16th September to 15th October or Virgo Ascendants and Moons

Virgo, your ruler is in an area in your chart to do with self-expression, performance, being on a stage of some sort, writing, teaching, creativity and fun. Perhaps you feel particularly lucky at the moment and optimistic but most of all, this can be quite a romantic time period for you. This looks to be a welcome counterbalance to the heaviness that Saturn has introduced and which may be playing on your mind. On top of that, you are becoming more outgoing than ever before these days, not willing to be overlooked anymore and you want to make sure, your hard work is not taken for granted anymore.

The full Moon on 5th of January in Gemini is a time for you to reflect on your status and in line with those changes within you, what your goals actually are. It’s a bit of an intense full Moon and whether changes, breakthroughs or realisations come through your work, your group of friends, your home environment or your relationships depends on your individual situation but all these areas are touched by the full Moon and the aspects it throws.

Not everyone may agree with decisions you’re now making or, if realisations, challenges or tensions come from external sources then you may have to get adjusted to those – in any case, there are some pressure points being exposed now. You may already know what they are, think back to July 2013 and what happened there to do with work, career, life direction or even a parent (figure).

It gives the ability to ‘create’ - in form and in structure – hinting at success in a lot being undertaken now. This is the nakshatra of the natural educator with a love for world travel and a pronounced interest in religious belief systems, ritual traditions with a love for children. For you, this means that it’s your friends and your belief in the future that you can count on now. Look forward, not backwards.

With Mercury, your ruler, in the sign of Capricorn, you’ll also have a very clear idea and ability to express your vision for your future and thoughts – although not an overly emotional placement, at least, you’ll be able to reason rationally. At least until 21st January, this is a nice placement for writing and planning the launch of your creative venture. In a romantic sense, this means that you’ll approach new love with caution. Mercury then goes retrograde on 21st January and until 12th February 2015. The consequences or hiccups of this retrograde period can be felt until 4th March 2015 – after this time, things to do with how you express yourself and which direction your life should take and with whom , will be analysed over and over again. You want to make sure you make the right decision and choose wisely. And rightly so!

The new Moon on 20th January in Capricorn again highlights this area of your life but now is the time to start thinking the hows and whens. It’s not a time to start initiating with Jupiter and Mercury in retrograde motion but it’s a time to get the thoughts going that will eventually lead to bigger and better things – romantically and financially. Have a great month, Virgo!

January 2015 horoscope - Libra

I follow the Vedic calendar; this is the January 2015 horoscope for birthdays from 16th October to 15th November or Libra Ascendants and Moons

Libra, similar to Scorpios, your home life is the focus of your attention this month and stands in the spotlight. But at least, you’ll have more fun around the house, ha! Your ruler, Venus, and Mars are both travelling through your home zone at the beginning of the month meaning that not only do you want to spend some time at home, you’ll also think about establishing a home office there and how you can go about doing that while part of you also considers how to finance such a new venture. For others, buying a home is top of the agenda now, renting out an existing one or taking in a lodger – in summary, profiting from your home is something your keen to do, especially as money is a bit tight these days or you’ve because you’ve been put on a financial diet!

Just as the New Year begins, the full Moon on 5th January in Gemini is a time for you to reflect, look at the bigger picture and, for some of you, this is a time to work out a strategic plan for your own business, ready to launch come March time! Libras are ready for more diversity, perhaps freedom and independence but certainly more meaning at work.

In Vedic astrology, this full Moon is in the nakshatra of Purnavasu, ruled by Jupiter, the planet of luck and expansion. For you, again, this means that it’s the perfect time to either launch a new business or at least become clear about what it is you want to get off the ground by yourself or as a little sideline next to your full-time job. Some may even reduce the hours you work in your full-time employment, and while this also means less money, at least for a while, it’s an opportunity to really do something fulfilling with your time.

With Mercury in the sign of Capricorn, you’ll also have a very clear idea and ability to express your thoughts and plan ahead – although not an overly emotional placement, at least, you’ll be able to reason rationally. Mercury then goes retrograde on 21st January and until 12th February 2015. The consequences or hiccups of this retrograde period can be felt until 4th March 2015 – after this time, things to do with house and home as well as your plans and visions around that are not so much subject to delays and frustration anymore. The new Moon on 20th January in Capricorn again highlights your home zone. Even though it’s a new beginning here, it’s not a time to start implementing plans with Jupiter and Mercury in retrograde motion but it’s a good time to review, re-think and to start planning and putting your thoughts on paper.

Last but not least, for some Libras, romance and fun is what you’re after as the New Year begins. Some of you might strike lucky and especially the end of January could be the beginning of very romantic period for you – if you are willing to look at the other person with a good deal of sobriety and not just wishful thinking. Have a great month, Libra!

January 2015 horoscope - Scorpio

I follow the sidereal/Vedic calendar; this is the January 2015 horoscope for birthdays from 16th November to 15th December or Scorpio Ascendants and Moons

The New Year begins with you wanting to spend a lot of time at home and despite all the busy-ness around you, you’ll want to hide away and disappear into your cave for a while. It could also be that things at home require your attention, something needs to be fixed and sorted out – perhaps now is the perfect time to do it, after the holidays! If you are lucky, you’ll be able to get away but, this year, even though two of your travel zones are busy at the moment, it seems as though things at home keep you were you are rather than you taking off to sunnier climates. Overall, it seems to be a hectic month for you, so don’t let outside stress penetrate your home. Also, if you are of that age, then it may be a parent who needs your support now. Make sure you keep your friends close this month, they are a great source of support now if you are facing disagreements with your partner about how to run your home or which colour to paint the walls.

The full Moon on 5th January in Gemini is a time for you to reflect your shared resources, intimacy and – given that it’s the start of a new year – your tax and insurance agreements. On the other end of the spectrum is the money you earn and have available to you that’s under the spotlight. There might be a bill or two that need to be paid…

For you, this means that apart from the money side that is highlighted now, it’s also a time to think about what you belief in, listen to you inner voice as well as spend some romantic moments with your loved one at home – if you can put the disagreements to one side!

What you won’t be able to get away with is a busy, hectic and even manic month where things need to be sorted, paperwork needs to be filled in and filed and again, for some of you to do with wills, inheritance, mortgages (quite likely), tax, insurance and other people’s resources. But with Mercury in the sign of Capricorn, you’ll have a very clear idea and ability to express your thoughts and you’ll be able to reason rationally. At least until 21st January, this is a good time if you wanted to go through your annual paper work, apply for loans and renew the insurance policy – what fun. However, Mercury then goes retrograde on 21st January and until 12th February 2015. The consequences or hiccups of this retrograde period can be felt until 4th March 2015 – after this time, things to do with your admin work, younger siblings, communication in general, hobbies, community involvement, team work and planning looks less confusing. You more than any other sign, need to pay attention to the small print. With Saturn now in your sign, the extra responsibility may feel like a heavy load but take a second look at whatever it is you are dealing with and you’ll soon realise you’ll be glad you did.

The new Moon on 20th January in Capricorn again highlights team work, admin and planning but it is also a new beginning when it comes to learning – if you have been thinking about broadening your mind through travel or education, then this is the time to start putting some timescales behind it all. If you can’t decide what or where, then wait until March comes around, a much better time to put these kinds of things into action again. Have a great month, Scorpio!

January 2015 horoscope - Sagittarius

I follow the sidereal calendar; this is the January 2015 horoscope for birthdays from 16th December to 14th January or Sagittarius Ascendants and Moons

Sag, if there is one word to describe what’s going on in your life at the moment, it’s transformation. Not only do you have Pluto, the lord of the underworld, death, rebirth and transformation in your sign, your own ruler, Jupiter is in the area of your chart ruled by Pluto. So, there is a kind of a mutual exchange happening, which is a bit of a double-whammy. You already know by now what this is all about by now – some has to do with yourself, your personality, the way you think, your outlook on life and how others perceive you to be. This is an ongoing process that was perhaps magnified even more over the past two months. Now, despite it being your birthday season, this somewhat heavy atmosphere overshadows or accompanies what is going on in January.

For example, the full Moon on 5th January in Gemini is a time for you to reflect on partnerships, marriage and shared resources. It’s an intense full Moon with Pluto in opposition, so things could come to a head. Think about what began in July 2013 around your partnerships – at the time a big growth area for you. Something is coming to an end and you’ll be able to settle something. Just watch you don’t go overboard with it as agreements related to business or partnerships may undergo sudden changes.

In Vedic astrology, this full Moon is in the nakshatra of Purnavasu, ruled by Jupiter, the planet of luck and expansion. This is the nakshatra of that of the natural educator with a love for world travel and a pronounced interest in religious belief systems, ritual traditions with a love for children. For you, this means that creating and expanding has all to do with your one-on-one relations, for good but also for bad.

But with Mercury in the sign of Capricorn, you’ll have a very clear idea and ability to express your thoughts – although not an overly emotional placement, at least, you’ll be able to reason rationally. A helpful placement when it comes to sifting through relationship matters and getting your joint finances on track. At least until 21st January. Mercury then goes retrograde on this day and until 12th February 2015. The consequences or hiccups of this retrograde period can be felt until 4th March 2015 – after this time, things to do with finances, relationships but in particular your work and life direction begin to start moving forward again. In the meantime, you may have to review certain aspects at work, a pay check is being delayed, an agreement is not being signed for some reason or you’ll have to pay up.

The new Moon on 20th January in Capricorn again highlights your finances but now is the time to start thinking about tightening the belt. It’s not a time to start initiating but to take stock, evaluate and work out a plan of how to boost your bank balance. But by the end of the month, you’ll be able to pour all your energy into getting something worthwhile off the ground that perhaps enables you to establish another little source of income. Have a great month, Sag!

January 2015 horoscope - Capricorn

I follow the sidereal calendar; this is the January 2015 horoscope for birthdays from 15th January to 12th February or Capricorn Ascendants and Moons

Happy birthday Capricorn! The New Year begins with the planets slowly but surely moving into your sign, giving you a fresh boost of energy which perhaps you haven’t felt in a long time. Perhaps things feel a little lighter than they have done for a while and you are actually able to enjoy what happening around you and to you. Needless to say that this has a positive impact on your relationships and although Jupiter, the planet of expansion is retrograde now in your partnership zone, you may be glad for things in that department to be slowing down a little. Some of you may have had plenty of opportunities in the past months but either you were busy with work or your partner was somehow unavailable, not present or distant. While not much moves forward during the retrograde, it’s a time to reflect and review and gather your thoughts again and think about what you truly want from a relationship – if you want one in the first place. I say this because all of your travel zones are activated at the moment, so it’s looking like you can’t stay in one place for too long anyway! Of course this does not apply to all Capricorn, you oh so responsible creatures, but something in your chart demands your focus at the moment and whether that simply has to do with you evolving the way you think, learning something new, making new experiences and therefore growing psychologically, it simply take away some of the attention a new relationship needs. Just as well, you are allowed a breather in this area now. Again, for other Capricorns who are in an established relationship, travelling together with your partner now broadens both of your horizons.

The full Moon on 5th January in Gemini is a time for you to reflect on your health, stress levels and to soothe any issues around relationships and shared finances.

In Vedic astrology, this full Moon is in the nakshatra of Purnavasu, ruled by Jupiter, the planet of luck and expansion.

With Mercury in your sign, you’ll also have a very clear idea and ability to express your thoughts, reason with others and equally, convince others – although not an overly emotional placement, at least, you’ll be able to reason rationally. At least until 21st January, this is a nice placement if you wanted to debate relationship and money matters, which, as the month goes on become a more prominent source of either worry or ‘only’ demand your attention.

Mercury then goes retrograde on 21st January and until 12th February 2015. The consequences or hiccups of this retrograde period can be felt until 4th March 2015 – after this time, things to do with education, travel, children and creative projects, teaching and mentoring will ‘flow’ a little more easily again.

The new Moon on 20th January in your sign again highlights relationship matters and any issues associated with that – only this time round, it’s personal and really demand your focus and attention. With Jupiter in opposition this year, things get magnified, for good or bad. At that point Mercury is also about to go retrograde so it’s not a time to start initiating but a major time to review, renegotiate and eventually restart – watch things unfold in your relationships, intimacy and shared finances over the next six to nine months. Have a great month, Capricorn!

January 2015 horoscope - Aquarius

I follow the sidereal calendar; this is the January 2015 horoscope for birthdays from 13th February to 14th March or Aquarius Ascendants and Moons

The New Year begins with you with your ruler, Saturn, the taskmaster, no firmly positioned at the top of your chart, in the area to do with your vocation, profession and career – but essentially your whole life. It’s breakthrough time – eventually – but not just yet. Although you’re in an outgoing mood to start with, socialising, having some fun, making plans and spending time with friends, you soon begin to turn inwards and prepare for what’s to come. Part of this can be some sort of transformative healing process, perhaps a holiday where you can recharge the batteries and, importantly, gather your thoughts. The coming years will see you change focus, career and / or life path and attitudes towards a lot of things, now it’s your turn to start thinking about what that may be and how you think you want to tackle the next few months. You’ve developed a more sensitive and creative side in the past years and your naturally humanitarian nature has become more pronounced – this is being challenged now and where you have not seen through illusion or false ambitions, you’ll now have to take off the rose-tinted glasses. But equally, if you have been feeling like the victim or are actually being victimised, again, this attitude is being challenged and if it doesn’t come from you then, someone else will point it out to you. It may be an uncomfortable situation but it will kick-start a healing process for you.

As the planets move on in January and into your sign, you’ll certainly feel the attention being placed upon you but also a certain amount of pressure on yourself and between your public and your private life. Perhaps you are focusing too much on work and status at the moment that your home life or what you actually feel about certain things has to take a backseat. This is ok for a while but if you don’t allow yourself to face your true feelings, it turns into something else.

The full Moon on 5th January in Gemini is a time for you to have a little bit of fun again, a contra-balance to what’s happening in your public life.  Although children and lovers may not necessarily be the source of that happiness at the moment, your creativity may be the substitute. This is the nakshatra of the natural educator with a love for world travel and a pronounced interest in religious belief systems, ritual traditions and despite everything, with a love for children. For you, this means that instead of focusing on what’s annoying you, take some time out to write, meditate, sing and do what brings you joy and feels relaxing.

With Mercury in the sign of Capricorn, you’ll also have a clearer idea and ability to order your thoughts – although not an overly emotional placement, at least, you’ll be able to reason rationally. But again, this is a great placement if you needed to concentrate on ‘being creative’. If you are working on a novel or some other writing project that takes a certain level of organisation and focus, this is your moment...at least until 21st January. Mercury then goes retrograde from this day and until 12th February 2015. The consequences or hiccups of this retrograde period can be felt until 4th March 2015 – after this time, things to do with children, creativity, other people’s money, inheritance and shared resources becomes more straight forward again.

The new Moon on 20th January in Capricorn is time to withdraw one the one hand and on the other, it’s time to focus on your health and the solution to certain issues and conflicts that have or are still underneath the surface – whether that’s with your partner or generally other people, depends on your individual situation.  But in any case, the end of the month sees you busy with work matters, career opportunities and perhaps even a promotion – after some negotiation and you having out in the hard work. Have a great month, Aquarius!

January 2015 horoscope - Pisces

I follow the sidereal calendar; this is the January2015 horoscope for birthdays from 15th March to 13th April or Pisces Ascendants and Moons

Pisces, the New Year begins with you in a social and outgoing mood, spending time with family and friends and, most importantly, thinking about the future and your goals, your hopes and your dreams. A lot of your time is spent on thinking about what’s next for you and developing a roadmap for your journey. For a lot of Pisceans, romance, children and creativity play a big part in all of this, if it’s not top of the agenda already.

The full Moon on 5th January in Gemini is a time for you to reflect on just these subjects and in line with what’s happening at home – and perhaps what your home needs to be and look like to fit around your plans for the future. Not everyone may agree with these proposals, especially people at work, but they’ll soon realise that they are not anymore dealing with someone who can be fobbed off easily. A lot of Pisceans learned the hard way what it means to be an individual and stand on your own two feet in 2014 – this year, you’ll put that attitude into practice.

With Mercury in the sign of Capricorn, you’ll also have a very clear idea and ability to express your wishes, emotions and thoughts – although not an overly emotional placement, at least, you’ll be able to reason rationally, without feeling victimised by others. At least until 21st January, this is a nice placement if you wanted to socialise, mingle and get involved with someone romantically. If you do meet someone, the two of you may not hit the ground running straight away, both of you may be occupied with different things and have stuff going on elsewhere that you have to deal with for a few weeks before love and romance becomes just a little more straight forward again.

In a more general sense, as I said, this is a good placement to plan and work on your ‘strategy’, get others fired up and involved in whatever it is you want to get off the ground. Mercury then goes retrograde on 21st January and until 12th February 2015. The consequences or hiccups of this retrograde period can be felt until 4th March 2015 – after this time, things to do with agreements, family, home and partnerships as well as future plans around all of that are back on track. In the meantime, you’ll be reviewing, revising, refreshing, renegotiating and rebuilding aspects of your relationship and at home. The terms of certain agreements are revised.

The new Moon on 20th January in Capricorn again highlights your hopes and your dreams but now is the time to start thinking about those. It’s not a time to start initiating with Jupiter and Mercury in retrograde motion and Mars, the planet of action, in an area in your chart to do with preparation and a certain kind of letting go. It’s a time for you to start planning your personal roadmap – including your timeframes – before putting in all into action come March. Have a great month, Pisces!
